Talk show host Joe Duffy attends the ‘relaunch’ of the 110 year old St. John Ambulance in the Aviva Stadium.
The event, held in the Aviva Stadium on 26/01/13, took place to mark a new beginning for the voluntary ambulance unit. Undertaking an internal rank restructuring in order to improve and and enhance the services the organisation offers, a visual change will also occur as the brigade will now feature a new logo, branding, uniforms and liveries on their vehicles.
Guest Speaker Joe Duffy congratulated the unit on it’s 110 years of continuous work and achievements, and also recounted his own personal experience of awaiting paramedic attention, sharing a story with the St. John Ambulance members in attendance about how he had been reversed into by a car before, and described paramedics as the initial ‘sliver of hope’ when a person is in need of medical care.
The popular Live Line host posed for photographs with St. John Ambulance Members before compering for an awards presentation in which awards were given to St. John Ambulance members for their contributions to the unit.
