The scene at John’s Centra Shop in Drogheda, which as been sealed off after two maintenance workers were attacked.
Two men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas entered the store to find maintenance being carried out. The two men assaulted the two maintenance workers, one of whom received injuries to the head. The other was unharmed in the incident.
Upon raising the alarm, the two men fled the scene empty handed. They drove off in a silver car in the direction of Duleek.
The injured maintenance worker was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where his condition was described as stable.
